Job summary

Saab is expanding its advanced manufacturing operations in West Lafayette, IN, hiring 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the U.S. Air Force T-7A Red Hawk aft fuselage. You will join a team delivering quality, training new members, and contributing to our state-of-the-art production system.

Starting pay is $23–$25/hr with a $2/hr 3rd shift premium, with on-site training provided. Requires 2+ years in assembly or hand tools, ability to read drawings, lift up to 50 lbs, and work extended

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structure and install systems per procedures.
• Train new team members and contribute to production system improvements.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting.
• Sign off on completed work per specifications.
• Support knowledge transfer to new employees.
