Job summary

FHP Manufacturing in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is seeking a proactive Sheet Metal Team Lead to supervise daily production in the sheet metal department. This hands-on leadership role requires guiding 10–15 team members, ensuring quality, and meeting production targets.

You will mentor operators, apply BPS principles, read drawings, operate forklifts, and uphold safety standards while coordinating with other shifts to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Manufacturing experience in sheet metal preferred.
• Experience coordinating 10-15 people.
• Strong English communication skills; overtime adaptable.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and prioritize daily production activities with Area Supervisor.
• Mentor new hires and cross-training associates in the sheet metal dept.
• Apply Business Process Standards to drive continuous improvement.
• Operate forklift to move sheet metal materials safely.
• Read work instructions, SHS, and technical drawings.
• Use hand and power tools to fabricate/assemble sheet metal components.
• Identify defects and label non-conforming materials, ensuring quality.
• Enforce safety procedures and safe material handling.
• Coordinate with other shifts/departments for smooth handoffs.
