Job summary

FHP Manufacturing in Fort Lauderdale, FL, seeks a proactive Sheet Metal Team Lead to coordinate daily operations in the Sheet Metal department. This hands-on role requires leading by example, mentoring others, and driving efficiency while upholding quality and safety.

You will plan daily production activities with the Area Supervisor, train new hires, apply process standards, operate equipment, read drawings, ensure safety, and collaborate with shifts to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing experience in assembly and/or CNC machine operation preferred.
• Must coordinate tasks of 10–15 people.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and drawings.
• Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Area Supervisor to plan, organize, and prioritize daily production activities.
• Be proficient in all processes within the sheet metal department; serve as a trainer and mentor to new hires and cross-training associates.
• Apply BPS (Business Process Standards) principles to drive continuous improvement and ensure timely delivery of components.
• Operate a forklift to safely load, unload, and transport sheet metal materials to and from production areas.
• Read and interpret work instructions, SHS, and technical product drawings.
• Use hand and power tools, measuring devices, and equipment to fabricate and assemble sheet metal components.
• Identify defects, label non-conforming materials, and uphold quality standards.
• Support and enforce all safety procedures, ensuring safe handling and movement of materials.
• Collaborate with other shifts and departments to ensure smooth production handoffs and minimal downtime.
