Job summary

Sonoco is seeking a Production Worker for the Opp, AL location on the 3rd shift. The role focuses on safe, efficient manufacturing for the tube and core division, with emphasis on quality and defect spotting on the packing line.

You will work with a team to troubleshoot issues, adjust processes, and learn new job setups while maintaining a clean, safe work environment and adhering to company policies.

Qualifications

• You have at least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• You have a "get it done" attitude and urgency to resolve tasks.
• You can read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• You can lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• You have previously held a forklift certification and can operate a forklift safely.
• You can work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• You have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.
• You are reliable, proactive, and quality-focused.
• You can work effectively with a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other departments and teams.
• Troubleshoot problems and situations as they arise.
• Make incremental process adjustments and monitor quality of products.
• Learn to set up new jobs and train on other lines and departments.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Perform duties assigned by supervisor/manager.
• Support Sonoco’s quality and safety policies in all tasks.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Downtime is time for cleaning and organization.
