Job summary

Sonoco is seeking an Inspector Packer I in Union, SC. The role involves collaborating with plant teams to ensure basic manufacturing processes run smoothly, visually inspecting molded/extruded parts for defects, and performing post-molding tasks such as buffing, deburring, and assembly.

You will pack parts with accurate labeling and quantities and report non-conforming items per procedures. The position requires prior manufacturing experience, ability to read standard work instructions and

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and follow standard work instructions and measurements.
• Strong attendance and punctuality record.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating closely with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing.
• Check molded or extruded parts visually for quality defects as outlined by the quality requirements.
• Performs post-molding/extrusion operations such as buffing, scraping, deburring, assembly, etc., as assigned.
• Packs quality parts in the appropriate cartons with correct labeling and quantities.
• Segregates and reports non-conforming product according to procedures.
• Maintains proper accounting and recording of production data such as run records, scrap sheets, etc.
• Records SPC/SQC data where applicable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Overtime required at times.
