The role emphasizes staffing, coaching, training, scheduling, and implementing continuous-improvement initiatives such as 6S and IDEAS, with travel during transfer phases to Terre Haute, IN and then minimal travel after stabilization.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience as a team leader, supervisor, or manager in manufacturing with hands-on management style.
• Demonstrates ability to motivate teams under high production volumes and meet customer demand.
• Strong skills in planning, organizational change, conflict resolution, and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Leads shift safety performance and ensures compliance with safety, PPE, and OSHA requirements.
• Supervises production teams assembling steering columns and conducts performance reviews.
• Maintains floor presence, coaches team members, and promotes teamwork and accountability.
• Ensures training on work instructions, equipment, processes, and documentation.
• Owns performance targets (S2QDC) and implements corrective actions.
• Coordinates staffing, work assignments, and production schedules to meet demand.
• Ensures quality standards and investigates production errors to prevent recurrence.
• Maintains inventory control and coordinates preventive maintenance.
