Job summary

thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America, Inc. in Hamilton, OH seeks a Production Team Lead to direct daily operations on the steering production line. You will train, coach, and assign operators, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time output while escalating issues as needed.

Lead by example, coordinate staffing, oversee changeovers, and maintain 6S standards. You will collaborate with the Supervisor to meet production goals and drive continuous improvement on the line.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams under high production volumes.
• Stable work history with emphasis on safety and quality.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of root cause and problem-solving techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to processes.
• Willingness to work required overtime during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a safe working environment by following safety policies and PPE usage.
• Provides day-to-day leadership and direction to operators; trains and coaches to standards.
• Coordinates staffing and shift rotations to meet production needs.
• Executes production plan and ensures work meets standard times.
• Completes first- and last-piece inspections and reports discrepancies.
• Assists with root cause investigations and implements countermeasures.
• Ensures equipment readiness and proper setup for changeovers.
• Responds to abnormal conditions and escalates as needed; seeks technical support when required.
• Maintains 6S housekeeping standards on the line and surrounding area.
• Documents shift results and communicates performance and issues to the Supervisor.
