Travel is significant during transfer, with minimal travel afterward. Strong leadership, OSHA knowledge, and hands-on management are essential for success in this role.

Our Aftermarket operations are based out of Poway, CA and our Motorsports operations are based out of Mooresville, NC.

The Production Supervisor is accountable for people leadership and shift performance across assigned Steering production areas. The role directly supervises production employees, manages staffing and employee relations, and ensures safety, quality, delivery, and productivity requirements are met. The Supervisor works with other departments to resolve operational issues and improve production processes.

Travel requirements are expected to be significant during the production transfer and launch phase, including extended assignments in Terre Haute, IN. Following successful transfer and stabilization of Steering production in Hamilton, travel is expected to be minimal and limited to occasional support, training, benchmarking, or business-related activities.

• Leads shift safety performance and ensures compliance with company safety and environmental policies and OSHA requirements, including PPE use, hazard and near-miss reporting, and corrective actions.
• Supervises production teams assembling steering columns. Interviews and recommends candidates for hire, completes performance reviews, manages employee relations, documents corrective actions, and develops employees.
• Maintains a strong floor presence, coaches team members, and promotes teamwork, engagement, accountability, and employee participation in problem-solving.
• Ensures employees are trained on work instructions, machinery, equipment, processes, and required documentation before performing assigned work.
• Owns S2QDC and other customer and company performance targets for the assigned shift; sets clear goals and priorities and implements corrective actions to address performance gaps.
• Coordinates staffing, work assignments, and production schedules with Production Schedulers to meet customer demand and respond to changing resource needs.
• Ensures compliance with quality standards and established work procedures; analyzes production errors and coordinates corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensures production equipment is cleaned and maintained according to preventive maintenance schedules and coordinates support for equipment issues.
• Ensures inventory control processes are followed and inventory levels and records are accurate across assigned Steering lines.
• Leads continuous-improvement activities, including 6S, the IDEAS program, and improvements to production methods, processes, and procedures supporting safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Conducts team huddles and coordinates daily with other Production Supervisors, the Production Unit Leader, and support departments on operational issues, shift handoffs, and priorities; escalates issues requiring management guidance.
• Ensures reports, billing, and payroll are processed accurately and on time.
• Interacts professionally with customers, vendors, visitors, and colleagues to support production and business needs.
• Completes extended on-site training and knowledge transfer at manufacturing locations supporting assigned product lines. Documents best practices, process standards, lessons learned, and critical operating requirements to support a successful launch in Hamilton.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Previous experience as a team leader, supervisor, or manager in manufacturing, with a hands-on management style and strong floor presence.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams under high production volumes or customer demand, including coaching and providing effective feedback.
• Strong management skills in planning, organizational change, conflict resolution, performance management, interviewing, and project management.
• Ability to organize work, prioritize competing needs, and adapt to changing business conditions while working independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis and interpretation of procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and demonstrated experience upholding workplace safety standards.
• Experience developing and improving work processes to achieve better outcomes for teams and customers.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, attention to detail, accountability, and a willingness to learn.
• Stable work history and flexibility to accommodate reasonable changes in work schedules, days, and assignments.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and basic use of computers running Windows.
• Knowledge and experience using SAP or a related ERP system, and ability to understand measuring gauges and sensors.
