Job summary

Wheatland Tube, a Zekelman Industries company, seeks a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor in Rochelle, IL to coordinate labor, ensure safe, efficient operations and maintain quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will develop schedules, train staff, monitor performance, conduct evaluations, and implement continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with Quality and Maintenance to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Associate degree with emphasis in management or supervision preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of shop floor systems such as MES, SAP, or similar platforms.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop work schedules to ensure appropriate staffing and achievement of production goals.
• Delegate responsibilities to team members and maintain accountability for performance outcomes.
• Provide training and cross-training, conduct evaluations and performance reviews, and initiate disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Hire, coach, develop, monitor, and evaluate team members and recommend personnel actions for approval.
• Perform quality checks on sites and equipment to ensure customer and quality standards are met.
• Generate and review daily operational reports to ensure shift continuity and address issues proactively.
• Monitor and supervise cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Identify, communicate, and escalate maintenance needs to minimize operational disruptions.
• Collaborate with the Quality Department to develop and oversee site quality standards.
• Develop and implement action plans to improve plant performance and operational efficiencies.
• Document workplace injuries, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to reinforce safety priorities.
• Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
