Job summary

Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Maintenance Leader for a weekend PM shift in Rochelle, IL. You will lead and perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on tube mill equipment, ensuring safe, reliable operation and high uptime.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in heavy manufacturing, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. Safety-minded, team-oriented, and able to operate CMMS and lifting equipment as required.

Qualifications

5+ years in a heavy manufacturing maintenance role.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with PLC familiarity.
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficiency with hand and power tools and precision measuring devices.
English communication and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical maintenance on production equipment following safety procedures (LOTO).
Inspect safety guards/devices and ensure equipment is safe before return to service.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and quality issues to minimize downtime.
Read schematics and drawings to diagnose equipment problems.
Complete breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance and changeovers.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate parts ordering as needed.
Document inspections and repairs in CMMS; track equipment status.
Operate material handling and lifting equipment safely.
Support continuous improvement and participate in problem-solving activities.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment per OSHA and company standards.
