Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 3rd shift in South Chesterfield, VA. You will lead team leads and hourly staff, ensure safety, and drive on-time production while meeting quality standards.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in leadership and 5 years in manufacturing, with Lean/Six Sigma knowledge preferred. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with flexibility for extended hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience (team lead, supervisor, etc.).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to team leaders and hourly production staff; ensure safe conditions, define expectations, provide resources and feedback.
• Develop, implement and audit daily standard work.
• Drive continuous improvement by performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain production schedule to meet quality and productivity targets.
• Maintain inventory control for raw materials used in the department.
• Collaborate with supply chain, quality, and shipping to meet targets safely and on time.
• Respond promptly to operational issues affecting customer expectations and cycle time.
• Enforce company policies and involve HR/Safety when needed.
• Build morale and accountability among reporting associates; initiate requisitions for open positions.
• Document skills and training to create a matrix of employee capabilities.
• Capture productivity data and analyze reasons for high/low output; adjust resources accordingly.
