Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor for the 3rd shift at its Part Production facility. This hands-on leadership role oversees the 3rd shift, trains staff, plans setups and operations, and ensures safe, productive production runs on-site five days a week.

You will lead from the floor, collaborate with technicians, and drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, and throughput while maintaining documentation and standard work.

Qualifications

• Hands-on and detail-oriented manufacturing leader.
• Prior direct or indirect leadership in a manufacturing setting.
• 5+ years of industry experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools.
• Track record of developing and maintaining process documentation.
• High-level of dedication, punctuality and reliability.
• Familiar with additive manufacturing, 3D printing, robotics, metal fabrication, or industrial automation.
• Proven ability to work with minimal additional leadership or engineering support in the factory.
• The knowledge and ability to troubleshoot equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside technicians and operators to fabricate components using Alloy’s novel metal manufacturing systems to build aluminum parts which include laser cutting, bonding presses, and sheet handling equipment.
• Manage resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements and also Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is maintained at all times.
• Run and tune proprietary software programs to optimize production processes.
• Complete initial prototype builds, analyze results, and refine component designs.
• Work closely with Applications, Engineering, Software, and Manufacturing teams to run production builds.
• Perform quality assessments according to customer specifications.
• Provide feedback to identify problems and improve production throughput, cost, product quality and process safety.
• Maintain process documentation, including test procedures, routers, travelers, process flows, work instructions, and PFMEAs.
• Inform facility layout to ensure efficient and productive manufacturing flow.
• Manage a team of production technicians to ensure safe and efficient task completion.
