Job summary

Omega Plastics Inc. in Clinton Township, MI is seeking a Process Technician for the 3rd shift to own mold changes, start-ups, and first article approval. You will set up injection molding machines, prepare molds, verify tooling, and train operators while maintaining safety and quality in a high-paced environment.

This on-site role requires 3+ years in plastic injection molding, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read work instructions and part prints. A shift premium applies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in plastic injection molding.
• High School education or GED preferred.
• Experience with mold changes, start-ups, and process troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of injection molding processes and part quality standards.
• Experience with first article inspections and basic quality measurement tools.
• Ability to read work instructions and part prints.
• Strong communication and training skills.
• Attention to safety and efficiency.
• Experience with RJG or automation robotics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read instructions and understand mold function.
• Set barrel heats and purge the IMM prior to changes.
• Clean mold back plates and platens.
• Install and remove molds per procedures with proper crane use.
• Connect mold change systems without leaks and verify signals.
• Follow water line diagrams; verify flow and safety locks.
• Test hydraulic/pneumatic lines when applicable.
• Remove used equipment and return to proper locations.
• Perform mold changes, start-ups, and process troubleshooting.
• Support first article inspections with basic measurement tools.
• Train operators and communicate across teams.
• Support material handler duties as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and timely paperwork.
