Job summary

Omega Plastics Inc is seeking a Process Technician on the 2nd shift in Clinton Township, MI. You will own the full lifecycle of each job—from mold changes and start-up through first article approval, operator training, and final shutdown in a fast-paced injection molding environment.

This on-site role involves hands-on die/mold setting, setting barrels and heats, and ensuring safe, quality production. Hours are 3:30pm-12:00am with a shift premium and close collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in plastic injection molding (process technician or setup role)
• High School Education or Equivalent (GED) preferred
• Proven ability to perform mold changes, start-ups, and process troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of injection molding processes, materials, and part quality standards
• Experience with first article inspections and basic quality measurement tools

Responsibilities

• Read operator and setup instructions; understand mold function including hydraulic core sequence
• Set barrel heats after ensuring IMM is purged of previous material
• Install and remove molds per procedures, including crane use
• Install all connections needed for a mold change without damaging components
• Follow water line diagrams; verify flow and safety locks
• Test hydraulic/pneumatic lines for proper function
• Perform mold changes, start-ups, and process troubleshooting
• Support first article inspections using basic quality measurement tools
• Train operators and communicate across teams
• Complete paperwork accurately and timely
