Job summary

Hikma Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. in Cherry Hill, NJ is seeking a PLC Technician for the 3rd shift to install, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-controlled packaging equipment.

You will work on electrical, instrumentation, control, and process systems across high-speed lines, ovens, and vision systems, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous improvement. The role requires 3+ years PLC experience, strong electrical skills, and ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High School education and a trade/technical certificate in electrical/instrumentation is preferred.
• Minimum five years of maintenance experience with high-speed equipment and instrumentation.
• Three+ years of experience with PLC-controlled equipment in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of industrial control systems and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with HMI systems, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial networking.
• Maintain documentation and follow SOPs and cGMP guidelines.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays and support set-ups and start-ups.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC systems and automated machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Monitor and optimize machine performance for efficiency and reliability.
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
• Modify PLC programs to support process improvements.
• Troubleshoot and maintain HMI, VFDs, sensors, and industrial networks.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, and startups.
• Maintain repair docs and compliance with safety policies.
