Job summary

GE Vernova’s Stator Bar Shop in Schenectady, NY seeks a Third Shift Operations Leader to run daily manufacturing activities, drive continuous improvement, and ensure KPI achievement. The role leads hourly staff on the third shift, plans manpower, and enforces standard operating procedures.

The ideal candidate has supervisory manufacturing experience and is comfortable with lean principles, safety discussions, and cross-shift communication to maintain production continuity.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or similar industry.
• High School Diploma or GED with at least 4 years in manufacturing or a leadership role.
• 3–4 years of military training.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NY.

Responsibilities

• Delegate work assignments based on current priorities dictated by production schedule.
• Manage daily productivity goals and ensure shift force is achieving the L1 targets.
• Communicate daily safety talking points and encourage safety conversations.
• Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and apply policy/strategy.
• Uphold company code of conduct and discipline as needed.
• Promote positive shop culture and maintain employee morale.
• Optimize indirect labor on shift and initiate housekeeping/improvement projects.
• Verify weekly timecards are updated in Kronos.
• Communicate with Operations Leaders on other shifts to ensure critical information flow.
