Job summary

Rich’s, also known as Rich Products Corporation, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift in the Crest Hill/Romeoville area. You will diagnose and repair plant equipment, using drawings, P&ID’s, PLC/SCADA controls and basic mechanical skills.

The role requires 3–5 years in food processing, strong communication, the ability to train others, and adherence to GMP and safety guidelines. Rich’s offers competitive pay ($32–$40/hour), benefits, and a team-focused, family-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in food processing and repair of production equipment with advanced control systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to train other maintenance associates.
• Ability to work in Self-Directed work teams.
• Proficient on Rich’s SCADA system.
• Solid mechanical knowledge plus electrical and logic principles.
• Basic plumbing and metalworking knowledge.
• Awareness of safety, GMP and Food Safety guidelines.
• Capable of supporting production improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses maintenance failures.
• Uses drawings and P&IDs to tune equipment; applies PLC/SCADA concepts.
• Responsible for basic maintenance tasks and building upkeep.
• Operates Rich’s SCADA system and completes paperwork.
• Trains associates on maintenance skills.
• Works with operations to assist production as needed.
• Maintains safe, orderly work areas per GMP and safety guidelines.
