Job summary

Valmont Industries in Valley, Nebraska, is seeking a Utility Person for the 3rd shift to perform all phases of production and assist the shift supervisor. The role requires operating an overhead crane, supporting safety and quality, and back‑up for the shift lead to maintain smooth operations.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years welding or machine operation experience, reads blueprints, and can work with multiple pieces of equipment. Training and Lean manufacturing experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years welding or machine operation experience.
• Ability to learn midsize functions and operate at least 2 pieces of equipment, or 1 piece with pole setup.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and blueprints.
• Proficient with tape measure and shop mathematics for reading prints.

Responsibilities

• Operate and back up for shift lead, ensuring tools and materials are available.
• Support production to maintain high quality Valmont products in a safe, efficient manner.
• Operate overhead crane and related equipment to handle materials.
• Collaborate with department leadership to achieve continuous improvement goals.
