Job summary

Martinrea seeks a Laser Operator on the 3rd shift to run CNC laser machines, maintain safety standards, and meet production demand. The role requires reading drawings, setting up machines, and training others as needed in a busy plant environment.

Candidates must be able to work independently, follow lockout procedures, and adhere to Health & Safety rules, HR policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook. Lifting up to 50 lbs and staying vigilant on equipment are essential.

Qualifications

• High degree of mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical and electrical procedures.
• Knowledge of lockout procedures and safety compliance.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Ability to incorporate technical reports into work.
• Extensive knowledge of laser equipment and operation.
• Proficient with measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure machine setup meets production and quality goals.
• Train and monitor operators in safe use of equipment.
• Maintain machines at maximum efficiency and utilization.
• Physically maintain laser machines and equipment.
• Complete paperwork and logs prior to shift end.
• Follow machine safety guidelines and lockout procedures.
• Maintain Martinrea housekeeping standards.
• Be on call for emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers.
• Abide by all company policies.

POSITION TITLE: Laser Operator (3rd Shift)

REPORTS TO: Industrial Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY: The function of the Laser Operator is to ensure that laser machine at Martinrea is maintained and in proper safe working order. Must be able to run CNC Laser. Schedule provided, must be able to meet demand. Skeleton Crew, must be able to work independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies and procedures

Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the company

Ensure Machine Set-up meets production and quality goals

Training and monitoring of all operators in the correct and safe use of equipment

Ensure all machines are operating at maximum efficiency and utilization

Physically maintain laser machines and equipment at Martinrea

Must ensure all paperwork and logs are completed prior to shift end

Follow Machine Safety Guidelines, ensure proper lock out procedure are followed at all times

Maintain proper Martinrea housekeeping standards

On call for emergencies

All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers

Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, HR policies and Martinrea Employee Handbook

COMPETENCIES (Job Knowledge/Skill, Education and related experience)
