Job summary

Martinrea Industrial is seeking Brake Press Operators to produce parts and assemblies that meet customer requirements in quality, safety, and output. The role involves operating brake pressing equipment, reading drawings and specifications, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Candidates should have experience with metal fabrication, the ability to read measuring tools, and the capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Experience reading drawings, blueprints and specifications.
• Ability to read tape measures, Vernier calipers and other measuring tools.
• Experience with metal fabrication is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
• Wear PPE as required by the company.
• Set up and program brake press machines to meet customer specs and output.
• Inspect first off/first part for quality and document results.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation and report unsafe conditions.
• Communicate with Quality and Engineering as needed.

Job Summary

Brake press Operators at Martinrea Industrial are primarily responsible for the production of parts and assemblies that meet customer requirements in quality and output in a safe fashion.

Required Education & Experience

• Experience with Metal Fabrication an asset
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints and specifications
• Ability to use Tape Measure, Vernier and other measuring tools
• Ability to identify and change Brake Press tools
• Ability to work independently or with supervision
• Capable to lift up to 50lbs from ground to table level
• Mathematical aptitude

Essential Functions/Competency Level

• Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Martinrea Industrial rules, policies and procedures
• Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by Martinrea
• Must ensure machine safety rules are followed (light curtains, guarding, etc.

• Responsible to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance the OSHA.
• Ensure that your work environment is clean, tidy organized and a safe workplace at all times.

• Ensure all tasks are performed in the allotted time provided
• Assure that 1st off/1st Part is inspected and meets Quality Assurance requirements
• Bend parts according to provided drawings and specifications
• Completion of data entry and/or paperwork as required
• Program, set up Machines to meet customer requirements in output and quality
• Interface with Quality and Engineering
• Maintain proper Martinrea housekeeping standards
• Must notify lead hand and/or supervisors of all dysfunctional and/or unsafe equipment or work practices
• All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers
