Martinrea Industrial Brake press Operators are responsible for producing parts and assemblies that meet customer quality and output requirements in a safe fashion.

The role emphasizes following Health & Safety regulations, using protective equipment, and coordinating with Quality and Engineering to ensure safe, efficient production and clean, organized work areas.

Qualifications

  • Experience with metal fabrication is an asset.
  • Ability to read drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure and Vernier.
  • Ability to identify and change Brake Press tools.
  • Ability to work independently or with supervision.
  • Capable to lift up to 50lbs from ground to table level
  • Mathematical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Must adhere to Health & Safety regulations, Martinrea Industrial rules, policies and procedures.
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by Martinrea.
  • Must ensure machine safety rules are followed (light curtains, guarding, etc).
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance the OSHA.
  • Keep work environment clean, tidy, organized and safe at all times.
  • Perform tasks within allotted time and meet QA requirements.
  • Bend parts according to drawings and specifications.
  • Complete data entry and paperwork as required.
  • Program, set up machines to meet customer requirements in output and quality.
  • Interface with Quality and Engineering.
  • Maintain proper Martinrea housekeeping standards.
  • Notify lead hand and/or supervisors of dysfunctional or unsafe equipment or practices.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers.
  • Abide by Company policies including Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems.

Job Summary

Brake press Operators at Martinrea Industrial are primarily responsible for the production of parts and assemblies that meet customer requirements in quality and output in a safe fashion.

Required Education & Experience

Essential Functions/Competency Level
  • Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Martinrea Industrial rules, policies and procedures

  • Must ensure machine safety rules are followed (light curtains, guarding, etc.
  • Responsible to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance the OSHA.
  • Ensure that your work environment is clean, tidy organized and a safe workplace at all times.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed in the allotted time provided
  • Assure that 1st off/1st Part is inspected and meets Quality Assurance requirements
  • Bend parts according to provided drawings and specifications
  • Completion of data entry and/or paperwork as required
  • Program, set up Machines to meet customer requirements in output and quality
  • Interface with Quality and Engineering
  • Maintain proper Martinrea housekeeping standards
  • Must notify lead hand and/or supervisors of all dysfunctional and/or unsafe equipment or work practices
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
Work Environment
  • Working in a plant environment
  • Frequent distractions and interruptions
  • Multiple demands, challenging, fast paced, team orientated environment, can be noisy
Physical Demands
  • Constant standing, walking, bending and lifting (light to heavy) and climbing
  • Warm/Cold temperatures
  • Communication with Lead Hand, Supervisors and Management
  • Overtime as required
Health & Safety
  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
