Job summary

IDEXX is seeking a Laboratory Operations Supervisor to lead a team in our GREENSBORO, NC reference laboratory. The role blends supervision of technicians with hands-on analysis using automated analyzers and diagnostic tools to support animal health.

The position emphasizes coaching, scheduling, and managing workflow to meet quality and turnaround targets, with ongoing opportunities for professional growth in a fast-paced veterinary diagnostics environment.

Qualifications

• Directly supervised 10+ employees in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of human clinical or veterinary testing; operations leadership experience required.
• Knowledge of clinical pathology areas such as Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Serology, Cytology.
• Strong people leadership skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment during 3rd shift hours.
• Passion for people leadership and team development.
• Willingness to work full-time with variable business needs.
• Able to meet lab physical requirements (standing, lifting up to 50 lb) and exposure to lab hazards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Laboratory Supervisor (60%) and Individual Contributor (40%).
• Oversee Laboratory Technicians across clinical departments.
• Coach and develop staff to reach business goals and potential.
• Organize staff schedules, coordinate workflow, monitor costs and metrics.
• Troubleshoot diagnostic analyzers and resolve workflow/tTurnaround time issues.
• Read and release lab results according to SOPs.
