Job summary

McGill Environmental Systems is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for our New Hill, NC facility to support recycling and composting operations.

The 3rd shift runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Starting pay is $24.00 per hour with a shift differential, plus benefits including health insurance, 401(k), and PTO. Join a safety-first team focused on environmental sustainability and reliable, year-round work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Experience operating heavy equipment listed
• Experience in composting/recycling or similar environments preferred
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather
• Commitment to workplace safety
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Operate Front-End Loaders, Small Excavators, Skid Steers, Telehandlers, Backhoes, Grinders, Screeners, and other heavy equipment
• Load trucks and transport materials throughout the facility
• Perform blending and material processing operations
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety checks
• Identify and report maintenance needs or equipment issues
• Support production goals while maintaining quality standards
• Follow all company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and PPE requirements
• Participate in safety meetings and training programs
• Maintain a safe, productive, and efficient work environment
• Complete other duties as assigned
