Job summary

McGill Environmental Systems is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator for the 3rd shift to support transforming organic waste into high-quality compost, mulch, and soil products. You will operate wheel loaders, skid steers, excavators, telehandlers, backhoes, and related equipment to move, blend, and transport materials while maintaining safety, production, and quality standards.

The role emphasizes environmental stewardship and teamwork within a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience operating wheel loaders, front-end loaders, skid steers, excavators, telehandlers, backhoes, or similar heavy equipment.
• Experience in composting, recycling, construction, landscaping, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, or industrial environments preferred.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to and from the Morrisville facility.

Responsibilities

• Operate Front-End Loaders, Small Excavators, Skid Steers, Telehandlers, Backhoes, Grinders, Screeners, and other heavy equipment
• Load trucks and transport materials throughout the facility
• Perform blending and material processing operations
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety checks
• Identify and report maintenance needs or equipment issues
• Support production goals while maintaining quality standards
• Follow all company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and PPE requirements
• Participate in safety meetings and training programs
• Maintain a safe, productive, and efficient work environment
• Complete other duties as assigned
