Job summary

McGill Environmental Systems is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator for the New Hill, NC facility to work the 3rd shift. You will operate wheel loaders, skid steers, excavators, telehandlers and backhoes, moving organic material and helping produce compost and soil products with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The role requires reliable attendance, willingness to work overtime, and a commitment to environmental sustainability in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating wheel loaders, front-end loaders, skid steers, excavators, telehandlers, backhoes, or similar heavy equipment.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and following procedures.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and tolerate dust, noise, and downtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate Front-End Loaders, Small Excavators, Skid Steers, Telehandlers, Backhoes, Grinders, Screeners, and other heavy equipment.
• Load trucks and transport materials throughout the facility.
• Perform blending and material processing operations.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety checks.
• Identify and report maintenance needs or equipment issues.
• Support production goals while maintaining quality standards.
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and PPE requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
