Wesleyan University seeks a Boiler Tender for its Central Power Plant in Middletown, CT. This full-time 3rd shift role runs 11:00pm–7:00am, with a half-hour paid lunch, and requires ensuring reliable steam and hot water systems for campus facilities.
Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining boilers, chillers and related equipment, performing leak repairs, and recording daily logs. Occasional overtime and after-hours shifts may be required.

The Physical Plant team is responsible for operations andmaintenance of Wesleyan buildings and grounds. The team includes astaff of skilled tradespeople who maintain and repair campusbuildings and associated equipment. The physical plant team alsooperates the Central Power Plant, which supplies and distributessteam for heating and chilled water for air conditioningpurposes.
Reporting to the Heating Plant Working Foreperson, the BoilerTender will service, maintain, repair, inspect, and monitor variousequipment in Wesleyan’s central plant. Plant operators respond toservice calls in the absence of a night or weekend mechanic, or toassist the mechanic as needed.
This position is a full-time 3rd shift role working 40 hours perweek on a 52 week per year schedule within the physical plantbargaining unit. The position is for a 3rd shift worker from11:00pm to 7:00am with a half hour paid lunch break.
This position may be required to work frequent additional hours andovertime shifts which may include returning to work, responding toafter-hours emergencies between shifts, nights, holidays, andweekends as directed.
This position is classified as essential personnel and as such arerequired to report to work/remain at work even if classes arecancelled and the campus is working on limited operations in anemergency.

Compensation: $34.24-$43.40
