Job summary

Traditional Medicinals, Inc. located in Rocky Mount, VA, seeks an Operations Supervisor for the 3rd shift (11pm–7:30am) to oversee both automation equipment and a production shift.

You will lead Automation Engineering Technicians and Automated Systems Technicians to ensure smooth, compliant operations. Responsibilities include minimizing downtime, driving process improvements, mentoring staff, coordinating staffing, and enforcing safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in automation, manufacturing, and shift supervision, with at least 3 years in leadership roles.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills related to automation systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide a team of Automation Engineering Technicians and Automated Systems Technicians.
• Ensure the efficient operation of automation equipment, minimizing downtime, and maximizing production output.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement necessary changes.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to automation equipment and implement solutions promptly.
• Maintain records of equipment performance, quality standards, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Train and mentor team members on best practices for operating automation equipment.
• Manage material replenishment to support continuous production and minimize interruptions.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards for automation operations.
• Oversee the daily operations of your designated production shift.
• Manage and schedule shift workers, ensuring optimal staffing levels.
• Monitor production processes and quality to meet or exceed production targets and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and address production issues promptly to minimize downtime.Conduct shift meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and safety protocols to your team.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Provide training and support to shift employees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
