Qualifications

• Experience in transportation, freight brokerage, carrier compliance, claims, safety, or logistics.
• Understanding of motor carrier authority, insurance, FMCSA records, and onboarding.
• Experience handling cargo claims, freight damage, or transportation incidents.
• Ability to recognize carrier fraud and suspicious operating patterns.
• Strong documentation, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with transportation management systems and carrier-vetting platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own carrier onboarding and verification standards.
• Review carrier authority, insurance, safety history, operating history, contact information, and risk indicators.
• Identify double brokering, identity theft, cargo theft, fraudulent dispatchers, and compromised accounts.
• Establish enhanced verification procedures for high-risk shipments and new carriers.
• Maintain carrier compliance records and ensure documentation is current.
• Balance fraud prevention with speed to cover freight.
• Manage freight claims from incident to resolution.
• Coordinate documentation with customers, carriers, insurers, adjusters, warehouses, and internal teams.
• Track cargo damage, shortages, and claim-related incidents.
• Escalate losses to leadership when needed.
• Coordinate restacks, load shifts, and salvage when freight is damaged.
• Locate warehouses, cross-docks, and labor or tow services.
• Work with drivers, carriers, customers, and Operations to resolve incidents.
• Review photos and documentation before approving recovery plans.
• Track recovery expenses and determine chargebacks.
• Develop SOPs and training for fraud and cargo claims.
