Job summary

Kitware is advancing 3D vision through research in photogrammetry, camera calibration, and 3D reconstruction from images and video. Projects emphasize aerial, satellite, underwater imagery, and SAR domains, with strong ties to open source frameworks like TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.

You will collaborate with researchers, publish work, and participate in conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, and 3DV while exploring national security applications.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with multiview geometry to build 3D point clouds, meshes, Gaussian splats, or NeRFs from imagery/video.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python with good software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop solutions for camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Engage with national/international conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, 3DV.
• Seek funding to grow your own research areas if desired.
