Job summary

Kitware seeks a researcher to advance 3D vision from imagery to open-source applications. You will research and develop algorithms for photogrammetry, camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images and video, focusing on aerial and satellite imagery.

You will contribute to TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield, collaborating with teams and presenting findings at major conferences. A PhD and strong publication record are required; US citizenship and TS/SCI readiness may be

Qualifications

PhD in Computer Science or related field.
Experience with multiview geometry to build 3D point clouds, meshes, NeRFs from imagery or video.
Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
Strong software development practices; proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
Strong publication record at top-tier venues (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV).
Willingness to obtain TS/SCI clearance if required.

Responsibilities

Research and develop camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction solutions from imagery.
Contribute to open source projects TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
Collaborate with researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
Prepare and present findings to customers and collaborators.
Present at major conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, and 3DV.
Pursue funding to grow research areas if desired.
