Construction Material Testing is seeking a trained 3D scanning technician to perform handheld scans on concrete projects and industrial facilities in the Houston area. You will capture data on site, process in Artec Studio, and deliver meshes, point clouds, and scan-to-CAD outputs that clients can act on.

The role requires prior hands-on experience with handheld scanners, proficiency in Artec Studio and CAD-style workflows, and the ability to travel to regional hubs as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, and export.
• Familiarity with reading structural or fabrication drawings and with CAD tools.

Aufgaben

• Plan and execute handheld scans of structural elements before pours and for damaged components.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL/OBJ/E57 and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation maps, reports, and anchor bolt coordinates against drawings or CAD.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
