Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a skilled Metrology Technician to gather highly accurate 3D data for aircraft tooling setup and measurement studies. You will work on 3D data collection, inspection planning, and tooling alignment to support in-process and completed aircraft.

The role requires experience with laser trackers or CMMs, CATIA V5 proficiency, and strong math skills. Travel up to 25% may be required; first shift.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with 3D metrology data collection and analysis.
• Experience with FAA compliance and tooling inspection processes.
• Familiarity with CATIA V5 metrology workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic inspections to ensure FAA compliance and quality procedures.
• Assist tooling mechanics to set or reset tooling details during inspections.
• Conduct measurement studies on in-process or completed aircraft.
• Coordinate with operations to schedule inspections with minimal production impact.
• Utilize Metrologic model-based inspection in CATIA V5; gather data and provide basic real-time analysis.
• Develop and document standards for handling and usage of metrology equipment.
• Set up and use precision measuring tools; validate results for accuracy/repeatability.
• Ensure proper storage of tools and equipment; inform management of issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
