Job summary

The Wenatchee School District is seeking a Special Education Para to support the Transition Program. This role covers 6 hours per day across 191 school days, with a salary of $21.87–$24.41 per hour. Responsibilities include assisting the Special Education instructor, providing educational services, and possibly one-on-one or resource room support.

Qualifications

  • Minimum AA degree or equivalent or passed PRAXIS test required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to make good decisions.
  • Patient, flexible, self-motivated, good communication, teamwork, academic skills and positive social skills and a sense of humor.
  • Ability to relate well to students, parents and staff.
  • May require lifting, prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Attendance and punctuality are important.

Salary: $21.87 - $24.41 per hour

DESCRIPTION: Assist the Special Education instructor in creating a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social and intellectual development of students. Provide educational services to students in the special education program. This position may require one-on-one or resource room support. Other related duties as assigned. ** Building locations subject to change based on student support needs. **

SCHEDULE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED.

180 - 219 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days and 11 holidays.

220 - 259 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave, 3 personal leave days and 11 holidays.

260 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 12 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days, 14 holidays and 12 vacation days.

Tuition reimbursement, 50% up to $450 per year for qualified expenses.
