The Idaho State Police (ISP) has a current opening for a Buyer supporting the Financial Services Office in Meridian. This position will purchase supplies, services, material, and equipment for a department, research and perform value analysis on products, services and equipment, and perform related work.
Job Summary: To purchase supplies, services, material, and equipment for multiple departments; research and perform value analysis on products, services and equipment; perform related work. At ISP this position serves as the primary backup for warehouse operations, requiring hands-on material handling, sta and vendor customer service and forklift certification. Seek continued education to have current knowledge of purchasing rules and regulations.
Procurement & Contract Management Follow DOP (Division of Purchasing) for procurement statutes, policies and procedures. Assist with large bid solicitations and procurement projects. Obtain purchasing quotes and conduct market research on products, services, and equipment. Process requisitions and issue purchase orders to vendors. Research contracts and statewide purchases for compliance and cost savings.
May attend trade shows for product and service information. Manage P-Card purchases for the purchasing department. Maintain Vendor relationships and monitor vendor agreement timelines. Maintain purchasing records, invoices, and related procurement files. Manage internal email for timely Purchasing communications.
Assist Warehouse Storekeepers with delivery issues Liaison for purchasing invoices Manage P-Card purchases specific to Warehouse Assist with annual inventory audit
Some knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures of Life-cycle costing principles Technology: Using multiple platforms for purchasing workflow, completing forms with technical terms, and submitting financial reporting. Communication: Serves as liaison between local agencies, contractors and ISP stafff. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in writing and/or verbally. Detail Oriented: High accuracy in tracking methods, dates, expenses, legal signature requirements and term monitoring. Physical ability to work in a warehouse environment and assist with physical inventory.
ISP specific forklift certified if not already certified obtain within 30 days of hire.
