Job summary

The Idaho State Police (ISP) has a current opening for a Buyer in Meridian within the Financial Services Office. The role purchases supplies, services, materials and equipment for multiple departments, conducts value analyses, and supports warehouse operations as needed.

Responsibilities include procurement management, vendor relations, and inventory handling, with a focus on compliance with Idaho purchasing rules. A forklift certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures; life-cycle costing principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to liaise between agencies, contractors and ISP staff.
• High accuracy in tracking dates, expenses, and legal signatures.
• Able to work in a warehouse environment and assist with physical inventory.

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Contract Management: follow procurement statutes, assist with large bids, obtain quotes, and issue purchase orders.
• Vendor & Administration Management: maintain vendor relationships and manage P-Card purchases.
• Warehouse Support: assist with delivery issues and annual inventory checks.
