Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing, Land Pride division, is seeking a Welder for the Abilene, KS facility on 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.), with overtime on Fridays as needed.

Primary duties include loading fixtures, welding parts, and reading blueprints with AWS symbols to ensure quality welds and production schedules. The ideal candidate has MIG welding experience, strong attention to detail, and is a team player capable of working in a Lean manufacturing environment while adhering to

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience and ability to pass weld test, as required.
• Ability to give strong attention to detail and stay on-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Have a good understanding of team concepts and be a strong team player.
• Ability to read blueprints and recognize AWS weld symbols.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools and welding equipment.
• Capable of embracing a culture of Lean Manufacturing and willing to accept/implement change.
• Ability to follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Load fixtures and weld parts as required.
• Safely use all tools necessary for the position.
• Maintain inventory accuracy at all times.
• Read blueprints and utilize AWS weld symbols as required for the position.
• Consistently achieve quality welds while staying on production schedule.
• Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require additional qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
