Job summary

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Mfg, is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder for our Abilene, KS facility. This full-time manual labor role runs Monday through Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with overtime on Fridays.

You will load fixtures, weld parts, read blueprints and AWS weld symbols, and ensure quality welds while meeting production schedules. Safety rules and PPE are required.

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience and ability to pass weld test.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and recognize AWS weld symbols.
• Commitment to safety and PPE requirements.

Welder – 2 nd Shift – Abilene, KS

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Mfg, is seeking a 2 nd Shift Welder for our Abilenefacility in Abilene, KS.

This position works Monday through Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with overtime on Fridays, as required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

• Load fixtures and weld parts as required
• Safely use all tools necessary for the position
• Maintain inventory accuracy at all times
• Read blueprints and utilize AWS weld symbols as required for the position
• Consistently achieve quality welds while staying on production schedule
• Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require additional qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• MIG welding experience and ability to pass weld test, as required.
• Ability to give strong attention to detail and stay on-task in a fast-paced environment
• Have a good understanding of team concepts and be a strong team player
• Ability to read blueprints and recognize AWS weld symbols
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools and welding equipment
• Capable of embracing a culture of Lean Manufacturing and willing to accept/implement change
• Ability to follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required
