Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing, Land Pride division, is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder for our Abilene, KS facility. The role runs Monday through Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with overtime on Fridays as required.

Responsibilities include loading fixtures, welding parts, reading blueprints, and maintaining production quality. The ideal candidate has MIG welding experience, ability to pass a weld test, and a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Manufacturing, is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder for our Abilene facility in Abilene, KS.

This position works Monday through Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 m., with overtime on Fridays as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Load fixtures and weld parts as required


• Safely use all tools necessary for the position


• Maintain inventory accuracy at all times


• Read blueprints and utilize AWS weld symbols as required for the position


• Consistently achieve quality welds while staying on production schedule


• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

• MIG welding experience and ability to pass weld test, as required.


• Ability to give strong attention to detail and stay on-task in a fast-paced environment


• Have a good understanding of team concepts and be a strong team player


• Ability to read blueprints and recognize AWS weld symbols


• Ability to safely use hand and power tools and welding equipment


• Capable of embracing a culture of Lean Manufacturing and willing to accept/implement change


• Ability to follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required.
