Job summary

BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift Vehicle Technician at our York, PA facility to maintain, troubleshoot, and test specialized vehicle platforms. The role emphasizes containments for non-conforming components, complex repairs, and coordination of Swim Pond and test track operations.

The technician must perform disciplined maintenance, meet safety standards, and work across multiple platforms in outdoor and indoor environments, adapting to evolving program requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven vehicle maintenance and repair experience (Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and contractual specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills in high-pressure testing environments.
• Physical ability to work in varied weather conditions and perform labor-intensive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Testing & Validation: Execute containments on suspect or non-conforming vehicle components and support Swim Pond testing for buoyancy and safety compliance.
• Maintenance & Repair: Perform cyclic maintenance including oil changes, transmission services, and hydraulic fluid replacements; diagnose complex system failures.
• System Troubleshooting: Identify and rectify faults across vehicle systems with necessary repairs and adjustments.
• Operational Compliance: Maintain test track and vehicle certifications and comply with policies and mandates.
• Component Overhaul: Test components, breakdown and rebuild subcomponents as required by the program.
• Adaptability: Perform tasks across weather conditions and multiple vehicle platforms as requirements evolve.
