Valmont Industries, Inc. in Farmington, MN is seeking a Tapering Operator for 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 2:45 pm–12:45 am). The role involves tapering and shaping aluminum shafts, loading/unloading with cranes, and performing machine set-ups with lean improvements. Starting wage is $27.96 per hour.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of manufacturing experience, and the ability to read prints and measure with precision. PPE usage and safety compliance are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
• Ability to take measurements with close tolerance measuring instruments.
• Ability to work in a team and follow work instructions.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Taper and shape aluminum shafts, loading/unloading the tapering machine.
• Perform tapering machine set-ups and tool changes to produce quality products.
• Train a back-up operator as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Support lean improvements in the tapering process.
• Work outdoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
