Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a Shipping & Receiving associate for 2nd shift (12pm-8:30pm) in Compton, CA. This temp-to-hire role offers medical, dental, vision, 401(k), profit sharing, life/AD&D and LTD paid by employer, quarterly bonuses, paid holidays and vacation accrual.

Responsibilities include processing shipments for domestic and international orders, using forklifts, inspecting items, preparing crates, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Basic English to read and follow work orders.
• Understand shipping processes and equipment at an intermediate level.
• Licensed Class C driver with clean record.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Verify quantities and perform visual inspections for defects.

Responsibilities

• Receive and assign daily tasks from supervisor or leads.
• Follow safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
• Perform 6S housekeeping and safety procedures on the shift.
• Process shipments; verify bills of lading, invoices, and orders for domestic and international.
• Apply shipping labels and prepare crates or containers for transport.
• Operate forklift and handtruck to move shipments.
• Inspect and document incoming/outgoing shipments and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain safe work environment and follow all safety policies and laws.
• Create shipping documentation and perform clerical tasks as needed.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by supervision.
