Job summary

Commercial Truck & Trailer Repair is seeking an Entry Level Service Writer to build strong customer relationships within the Berger family of companies. You will work closely with technicians to guide them toward dealership goals and help manage daily departmental activities.

The role emphasizes organization, communication, and the ability to manage warranties and adjustments while contributing to safety and efficiency across shops.

Qualifications

• Qualifications to apply include: strong organizational skills; excellent communication (verbal and written); ability to pass a drug test and background check; experience in vehicle/equipment diagnosis or repair preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for service department.
• Organize and supervise daily departmental staffing and workflows.
• Set staffing levels and arrange training as needed.
• Assist in setting sales and expense goals for the facility.
• Monitor repair practices to ensure productivity and efficiency.
• Direct advertising and promotional programs as needed.
• Maintain service tools, equipment, and facilities to meet standards.
• Maintain records on hazardous waste disposal and annual state reporting.
• Implement safety procedures as safety supervisor.
• Handle customer concerns and warranty/policy adjustments in customers' best interest.
• Determine labor rates based on market research and budget.
• Review financials for budget compliance and conduct annual employee evaluations.
• Monitor technician productivity and conduct evaluations.
• Stay informed on market trends and competition.
• Collaborate with Parts Manager for prompt claims and follow-ups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
