Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning and proper use of equipment/chemicals for duties.
• Some aptitude for repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated initiative in cleaning assigned areas.
• Ability to follow supervision and communicate clearly.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers and professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum carpeted areas.
• Dry mop and wet mop assigned areas.
• Clean lavatory fixtures.
• Collect and dispose of refuse.
• Clean boards and whiteboards as needed.
• Clean glass areas, mirrors, and sills.
• Remove snow/ice from sidewalks.
• Maintain grounds adjacent to the building.
• Prepare gym and other areas for outside groups.
• Lock interior and exterior doors before leaving.
• Keep unoccupied classrooms and custodial closets secured.
• Assist head custodian with repairs.
• Remove spills or stains from floors and hallways.
• Dust shelves and countertops in classrooms.
• Clean classrooms nightly, gym, and locker rooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned by head custodian or principal.
