Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning and use of equipment/chemicals for specific duties.
• Aptitude for repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrate initiative in completing cleaning tasks.
• Ability to receive and act on oral or written instructions.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers and professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum carpeted areas.
• Dry mop and wet mop assigned areas.
• Clean all lavatory fixtures and mirrors.
• Collect and dispose of refuse.
• Clean chalk boards, white boards, and glass surfaces.
• Remove snow/ice from sidewalks.
• Maintain immediate grounds around building including mowing/trimming.
• Prepare gym and other spaces for external groups.
• Lock interior/exterior doors before leaving.
• Assist head custodian with repairs.
• Keep classrooms and custodial spaces secured.
• Handle spills and stains on floors/walkways.
• Dust shelves and countertops; clean classrooms nightly.
