Job summary

Peninsula Plastics is seeking a motivated Quality Technician for the 2nd shift in Auburn Hills, MI. The role focuses on inspecting components to meet customer specifications, recording results in MES, and supporting the QA and production teams in resolving quality issues.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Quality Manager, perform GD&T inspections, and handle measuring tools like micrometers. Overtime on Fridays is required in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a quality assurance, quality control, or manufacturing inspection role.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to accurately document inspection results.
• Familiarity with measuring tools and plant operations.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work mandatory overtime on Fridays as currently required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test manufactured components to ensure they meet customer specifications and established quality standards.
• Assist Quality Assurance and Production teams in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving quality-related issues.
• Inspect and validate incoming parts and materials from external suppliers.
• Utilize measuring tools to verify product dimensions and quality.
• Interpret quality tolerances and GD&T.
• Document inspection results and testing data using MES.
• Identify defects and communicate quality concerns to the team.
• Support continuous improvement to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
