Job summary

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking a Quality Inspector (2nd shift) to ensure accurate documentation of non-conformities and to verify VINs with bar codes across outdoor and indoor environments. The role emphasizes attention to detail, safety, and collaboration with leads and supervisors.

Candidates must be capable of working in all weather conditions, standing for long periods, and supporting continuous improvements in quality and process control.

Qualifications

  • High attention to detail and self-motivated.
  • Ability to identify quality problems and implement countermeasures.
  • Understand customer requirements regarding vehicle condition prior to shipment.

Responsibilities

  • Document non-conformities and communicate issues to the team.
  • Coordinate repairs with Lead and Supervisor to prevent defects.
  • Verify VINs against bar codes and window stickers before completing work.
  • Report quality problems to management and follow safety procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and comply with all weather/working conditions.
  • Attend QC meetings outside of regular shift time and support others as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisors.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Ensure documentation of non-conformities and communicates issues and coach installer as necessary.
  • Regularly communicate with Lead and Supervisor to prevent non-conformities and coordinate repairs.
  • Use mobile scanner and verifies vehicle identification numbers (VIN) against vehicle bar codes and window stickers to ensure assigned work is completed on the correct automobile.
  • Efficiently and accurately report quality problems to management.
  • Prevent vehicle damage by following safety procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas.
  • Standing and walking most of shift up to 8 miles daily.
  • Park inspected vehicles outdoors for distribution through the lot.
  • Attend mandatory QC meetings outside of normal scheduled shift time.
  • Work in all weather conditions all year round.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Complete understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, accessory, distribution, rail, and body shop processes.
  • Ability to identify quality problems associated with vehicle and lead effort to construct and implement effective countermeasures to problems.
  • Complete understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, customer requirements concerning vehicle condition prior to shipment.
  • Ability to carry out specified work procedures and directions of supervisors or leads
