Job summary

Wentworth James Group is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift in the Cleveland, OH area to lead daily manufacturing operations with a focus on safety, quality, productivity and on-time delivery.

The role requires developing and coaching a team of production employees, coordinating with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced plastics and packaging environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Production Supervisor or similar leadership role in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes, KPIs and best practices.
• Experience managing production employees and driving performance.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with plastics, packaging, extrusion, injection molding or similar processes is desirable.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement.
• Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Engineering and Quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the 2nd shift production team.
• Manage daily production activities to meet customer schedules.
• Monitor safety, quality, productivity, scrap and downtime.
• Allocate manpower and resources across the operation.
• Coach, mentor and develop production employees.
• Manage attendance, performance and employee relations.
• Work with Maintenance and Engineering to resolve equipment issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Ensure procedures and standards are followed.
• Maintain accurate production records and reporting.
• Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.
• Promote safety, quality and accountability culture.
• Conduct shift handovers and communicate key issues across shifts.
