Job summary

Wentworth James Group is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift in the Cleveland, OH area to lead daily manufacturing operations with a focus on safety, quality, productivity and on-time delivery.

The role requires developing and coaching a team of production employees, coordinating with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced plastics and packaging environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Production Supervisor or similar leadership role in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes, KPIs and best practices.
• Experience managing production employees and driving performance.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with plastics, packaging, extrusion, injection molding or similar processes is desirable.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement.
• Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Engineering and Quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct shift handovers and communicate key issues across shifts.

The Role

As Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the production operation, ensuring that safety, quality, productivity and delivery targets are consistently achieved.

You will lead and develop a team of production employees while working closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality and Operations Management to resolve issues and continuously improve manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the 2nd Shift production team.
• Manage daily production activities to ensure customer requirements and schedules are achieved.
• Monitor safety, quality, productivity, scrap and downtime performance.
• Allocate manpower and resources effectively across the production operation.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Production Manager or similar.
• Experience leading teams within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes, KPIs and manufacturing best practices.
• Experience managing production employees and driving performance.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience working with plastics, packaging, extrusion, injection molding, converting or similar manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement methodologies is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Engineering and Quality teams.
