Job summary

Staffmark is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift in Hayward, CA. You will lead a team of about 20 on the floor, ensure production targets are met, and oversee end-of-shift sanitation to ready the line for the next shift.

This role emphasizes safety, quality, and food safety culture. You will troubleshoot on the floor, coordinate with Maintenance, QA, and Warehouse, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining timekeeping and attendance records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, food processing, or production.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and coaching skills.
• Proficiency with timekeeping systems, Microsoft Office, and production reporting.
• Ability to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 12:00 AM) in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, wear PPE, and work around noise, moving equipment, temperature changes, and food ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a 2nd shift team of about 20 production employees to meet schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Plan and oversee end-of-shift sanitation so the lines and facility are fully cleaned and ready for 1st shift start-up.
• Track attendance, productivity, and performance to keep the shift fully staffed and running efficiently.
• Work hands-on on the production floor and resolve operational, equipment, and personnel issues as they come up.
• Manage production schedules and workflow to maximize efficiency, reduce downtime, and complete orders on time.
• Troubleshoot production and equipment issues and coordinate corrective actions with Maintenance.
• Inspect products and materials to confirm they meet quality specifications and food safety requirements.
• Train employees and make sure they follow GMPs, safety procedures, sanitation standards, and company policies.
• Operate, adjust, and support manufacturing and packaging equipment as needed.
• Promote a strong safety culture and enforce workplace safety programs.
• Maintain timekeeping and attendance records, review time punches, and support timekeeping system administration.
• Handle attendance, policy, and performance concerns, including coaching, documentation, and corrective action.
• Recommend process improvements that raise productivity, product quality, and equipment performance.
• Work with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other teams to keep the facility running smoothly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
