Summary
- Schedule timely customer orders by producing new or pulling from stock, in accordance with shipping schedules.
- Structure the production schedule to maximize efficiency with large material runs and minimal downtime, while meeting customer needs.
- Report to Plant Manager.
- Ensure employee safety on shift.
- Supervise employees, including hiring, performance reviews, and discipline.
- Provide training and cross-training for employees.
- Coordinate maintenance and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Run schedule as per scheduler's specifications.
- Ensure product quality and perform quality checks.
- Ensure proper scanning by coil personnel and truck drivers.
- Orient new employees.
- Manage inventory.
- Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas.
- Approve work hours and payroll.
- Provide training to shop employees.
- Enforce all rules and regulations.
Safety
- Follow all safety rules and operational procedures.
- Wear and maintain PPE.
- Keep work areas clean.
- Understand safety devices and notify management of malfunctions.
- Operate lifting devices safely.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise leads and hourly manufacturing staff.

- Mechanically inclined.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred.
- 3+ years in steel framing, lath, and accessory environment.
- 1-2 years supervisory experience.
- Military equivalent recognized in lieu of education/experience.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Standing 8+ hours/day.
- Walking 4-6 hours/day.
- Body movements: squatting, bending, arm movements.
- Grasping for extended periods.
- Sitting occasionally.
- Pushing and pulling occasionally.
- Climbing ladders/stairs occasionally.
Mathematical Skills
- Basic math skills, ability to read measurement tools.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing setting with heat and cold exposure.
- Use of PPE required.
